Stacking coal year after year, smiling as he unwraps it. Down the staircase he goes—a private descent to decadence. As he sits atop a jet black throne, quaffing jet black beer, he says to himself, “sometimes it’s good to be bad.”
PROCESS SPOTLIGHT:
Dark malts added carefully using a process called “capping.” Black malts are added post-mash to avoid extracting harshness or astringency. The low contact time with the roasted malts lends depth and complexity without harsh charred flavors.
TASTING NOTES:
Chocolate, caramel, and leather lead the way in this complex, highly drinkable porter. Texture is smooth and soft with an easy finish.
