WHY IS THERE AN EXTRA CHARGE ON MY CANS?

We are entering the Deposit Return Scheme!

ARE THE PRICES DISPLAYED INCLUSIVE OF THE DEPOSIT FEE CHARGE?

Yes - the price you see stated with each product is the final price that includes the deposit fee.

WHEN DOES DEPOSIT RETURN SCHEME START?

It goes live on the 1st of February, 2024.

WHICH PRODUCTS ARE INCLUDED IN THE SCHEME?

The scheme applies for all PET plastic and aluminium or steel containers of the size between 150ml – 3000ml

HOW MUCH IS THE DEPOSIT?

Deposit fee for containers between 150ml-500ml (inclusive) is €0.15

Deposit fee for containers between 501ml-3000ml is €0.25

CAN I GET MY DEPOSIT BACK?

Absolutely! Please make sure that the containers are not damaged, squished, or broken – the machines will need to scan and read the barcodes on them. You can return your cans or bottles in many places – either via manual return (over the counter) or using Reverse Vending Machines (RVM) that are available with many of the major outlets.

CAN I BRING MY USED CONTAINERS TO YOUR STORE?

Unfortunately, not. Due to the size of our store, we were granted an exemption, and we will not be able to take the containers and issue your deposit back.

ARE YOU GOING TO CHARGE THE DEPOSIT ON ALL CANS FROM NOW?

There is a transition period lasting up until the end of May, in which we are allowed to sell all the products that will not participate in the scheme going forward. We will do our best to make sure that this transition period is as smooth as possible for all of us – and we would like to thank you in advance for your understanding and patience during this challenging period.

After the transition period all our products sold in store and online will be automatically part of the scheme and the deposit fee will be charged on all eligible containers.

HOW DO I KNOW WHICH CANS WILL COME WITH THIS DEPOSIT FEE?

We will ensure that the products eligible for the recycling scheme are clearly marked on our website (you can find the Re-Cycle logo on the product pictures) and you’ll find an additional note on your purchase invoice in the box.

Please note that going forward all these products will have the Recycle logo on the containers, so this mark will be your clear indicator that the container can be returned, and you can claim your deposit back. In the meantime, there are certain products in circulation that do not contain the logo yet, but they are registered with the scheme and the Reverse Vending Machines will be able to read their information and issue your deposit fee back. For that reason, those products also have the deposit fee applied and you will be able to claim it back when your used and undamaged containers are brought back. Please note that you will only be able to return these containers in question via RVMs (Reverse Vending Machines), there will be no option for manual returns over the counter.
